
Prof.Ahmed Ghallab-Aswan University President said that within the framework of implementing the directives of the state and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to raise the efficiency of university hospitals and work on reducing the burden on the shoulders of the kidney patients in Aswan and the patients of Southern Upper Egypt governorates.
A preparing meeting has been held by the heading of Dr. Mohamed Zaki Al Dahshory-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and the Director of Kidney Transplant in University Aswan Hospital in order to study the preparedness’s extent of Aswan University Hospital as preparation for directing specialized committee through the Ministry of Health in order to start a kidney transplant at Aswan University Hospital in the attendance of Dr. Ashraf Maabad- the Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals.
Dr. Mohamed Zaki Al Dahshory-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine added that it’s ongoing developing the Department of Urology as preparation for conducting a kidney transplant at Aswan University Hospital, the meeting witnessed members of the Department of Urology, Kidney Diseases Department, Department of Clinical Pathology, Anesthesia Department, Quality Unit, Confronting Infection Unit, and the Department of Diagnostic Radiology; the teamwork has been trained at the big specialized hospitals such as Dr. Mohamed Ghoneim Center in Mansoura to prepare the human power that is qualified scientifically, medically and administratively; and working on providing all the necessary needs including devices, laboratories, operations rooms, and intensive care rooms after conducting the surgeries of a kidney transplant cases and the most important preparations for receiving the committee that is responsible for granting licenses for starting in a kidney transplant at Aswan University Hospital and this orientation is considered a solution for the problems of a kidney failure patients who attend dialysis units in the governorate and the neighbouring South Upper governorates.
Dr.Ashraf Maabad- the Executive Director of University Hospitals, indicated that the meeting discussed showing all the necessary needs for conducting a kidney transplant operation at Aswan University Hospital that has a great impact on patient and beds from a health, social, and economic side in terms of the patient of a kidney failure stops working that’s affecting the family income as well as costs the state vast economic burdens during the disease period and kidney transplant operations are considered a lower cost for the patient than the costing of washing; as well as make him has the capability of working and producing and getting an improvement gradually by practicing his life tasks in a better way.
