About
The Department of Anatomy and Embryology is one of the most fundamental departments in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, teaching general anatomy, general and special embryology, comparative anatomy, farm animal dissection, and domestic animal dissection, as well as studying applied anatomy to benefit all clinical sciences.
The Department of Anatomy and Embryology houses numerous sophisticated museums (including the First Level Anatomy Museum, Second Level Anatomy Museum, Skeleton Museum, Embryo Museum, Bird Museum, and Aquarium Museum).
The department also has a large mortuary outfitted with cutting-edge educational and research equipment as well as three halls: the First Level Students’ Mortuary, the Second Level Students’ Mortuary, and the Anatomical Specimen Preparation Hall, which houses a variety of illustration tools. In addition to the plastics and tissue laboratories, the Histo-Immunochemistry Laboratory is equipped with cutting-edge technology and innovative equipment for teaching and scientific research.
The department is distinguished by the presence of faculty members with strong academic and research talents in all anatomical specialties, as well as a world-class technical team for museum and drawing preparation.
Goals
1. Preparing first and second batches of students in the fields of anatomy, embryology, and histology for animals, birds, and fish.
2. Preparing scientific cadres with a distinct scientific level through postgraduate studies (diploma-masters-doctorate), as well as conducting scientific research on the department’s existing specialties.
3-Aims to make the Anatomy Department a distinguishing scientific center, whether through the department’s permanent museum or by preserving and implementing necessary scientific models for the educational process.
