Closing of the Heritage Folk Crafts Festival of the Egyptian Universities at Aswan University

Today, on Monday, the conclusion of the events of the Folklore Heritage Crafts Festival at the Egyptian Universities hosted by Aswan University and held under the auspiece of Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar-Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, President of Aswan University, and Dr. Karim Hassan Hammam, Director of the Institute for Leadership Development in Helwan, in the presence of Dr. Loay Saad El-Din Nasrat, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, on behalf of the Aswan University President.

Prof. Ayman Othman-Aswan University President confirmed that the festival was held under the slogan of ” Khayr Baladie”, the festival comes within the framework of the interest of the political leadership in the folk heritage and maintaining the visual identity in cooperation with ”Preparing Leaders Institute” in holding the Heritage Folk Crafts Festival of the Egyptian Universities at Aswan Governorate with unique folklore heritage, civilization, and history. Aswan is the capital of culture, economy, arts, and African and Arabic youth of Africa.

A workshop of the festival students was held under the supervision of Dr. Hossam El-Din Mustafa, Dr. Abdel Moneim Al-Jilani, Vice Deans of the Institute, Dr. Yasser Abdel Hamid, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources, head of the Organizing Committee, and Dr. Muhammad Abu Al-Layl, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.

Prof. Ayman Othman added that the workshops have been opened today at the university campus in Sahary at the Faculty of Agriculture that were held during the period from 4 to 7 February 2022, and participated in the festival 200 students from the various Egyptian Universities.

Dr.Louay Saed-Al Din Nasrat-Dean of the Faculty of Engineering declared that the works of the exhibition today are the outputs and the fruits and innovators of the festival from each university to express their art and works to revival the folklore heritage of each governorate of the Egyptian governorates, and they will be the nucleus of participating in the second Heritage Folk Festival.

Also  Dr. Loay Saad Eddin Nusrat-Dean of the Faculty of Engineering-opened behalf of Aswan University President and Dr. Karim Hammam and the jury from the folk crafts exhibition for 20 participating Egyptian Universities; the attenders checked the artistic and creative portraits of the folklore heritage crafts and the presented works from the Egyptian Universities students.

The competition fields jury was consisted of Dr.Mahmoud Hamid Saleh-Head of the jury and the lecturer of the artistic works and the folk heritage and dean of the faculty of art education, Helwan University, Dr. Wagdy Refaat Farid- the member of the jury and the professor of the artistic works and folk heritage and dean of the faculty of specific education-Assuit University, Dr. Eman Mohamed Wagdy – Member of the Jury, Assistant Professor of Artistic Works and Folk Heritage, and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, Aswan University.

The final festival’s celebration was held at ”Field Marshal Tantawy Hall”with musical and artistic performances submitted by students of the musical education department under the leadership of Dr.Mohammad Rashed and in the attendance of Dr. Loay Saad El-Din Nasrat – Dean of the Faculty of Engineering – on behalf of the President of the University and Dr. Karim Hammam -Head of Preparing Leaders Institute, and the two parties exchange the honor shields and submitted the appreciation certifications for the participating universities in the festival.
