Prof.Ahmed Ghallab Mohammed -Aswan University President announced that it’s considered to the administration of the university its achieve a new score, for the first time in the university’s history the university ranked in (QS Arab Region Rankings 2021) and Aswan University ranked (131-160) category. It’s worth to mention that QS ranking is an annual classification for the various universities around the world and depends on a number of standards such as academic reputation- the reputation among business owners and scientific research- international cooperation and other standards.
Prof.Ahmed Ghallab added that Aswan University ranked first place for the second year frequently on the top of Egyptian Universities according to British Times Classification for 2021, and gets within the (401-500) category, and comes within the category between (401-500) for the best universities around the world. As well as Aswan University achieved a new achievement by its coming on the top among the Egyptian Universities in the British Times Ranking for 2021 for scientific specialization in the field of engineering science for the second year in a row, and ranked in (301-400) worldwide, ranked sixth place on the level of Egyptian Universities in the field of physical science for the second year in a row, ranked (601-800) worldwide.
As well as Aswan University classified in the British Times Classification for the Sustainable Development Goals 2020 at the following places:
-Fourth place on the level of Egyptian Universities.
-Ranked in the category (401-600) worldwide.
-Ranked in the category (301-400) in terms of the indicator of good health and entertainment.
-Ranked in the category (301-400) in terms of the indicator of a good education.
-Ranked in the category (201-300) in terms of the indicator of gender equality.
-Ranked in the category (101-200) in terms of the indicator of local sustainable societies and cities.
-Ranked in the category (101-200) in terms of the indicator of climate action.
-Ranked in the category (201-300) in terms of holding partnership for achieving sustainable goals.
Dr.Ayman Osamn-Vice University President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs indicated that this achievement enhances steps of the university towards the continuous in its curriculum and strategy for providing an ideal educational environment matching with the international standards, as well as enhancing scientific research and its outputs, and confirming on that scientific research and researchers of Aswan University are awarded to these standards and the mechanisms of applying it.
Dr.Mohamed Abdul Aziz Oraby-Director of International Classification and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Energy Engineering for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs explained that Aswan University kept its ranking on the top of Egyptian Universities for the second year in a row and within the best 500 universities worldwide according to the British Times Ranking. As well as he said that Aswan University comes among the best 10 universities worldwide in terms of citation from researches according to the British Times; more than (1500) universities have been classified in 93 states at the version of the British Times Ranking for this year that makes it more variety and competition. The indicators of the British Times Classification depend on five main axes: Teaching-Environment of Learning-Scientific Research-Citations-Reputation, he explained that the British Times Classification requires for classifying universities inserting research, scientific papers that are accredited by an international database such as (SCOPUS).
Aswan University occupied advanced positions in the previous year’s Times classification, the most important of which are :
– The best Egyptian university 2020 and within the top 500 universities worldwide
– First place at the level of Egypt and the best 400 universities in the world in the field of Engineering and Technology 2020
– Third place in Egypt and among the best 600 universities in the world in the field of physical sciences 2020
– fourth in Africa and the eighth Arab 2020
– 104th at the level of universities in emerging economies, according to the British Times 2020 classification, and ranked second at the level of Egypt
– First place at the level of Egyptian universities in the Times ranking universities young, and 101-150 globally.
