Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman-Aswan University President witnessed the inauguration of the events of the 2nd session about ”Surveying Facilities to Poll Opinion About the Required Skills in the Labor Market” in the attendance of Dr. Amal Abdel Wahid-Director of Career Development Centers Project in the American University Cairo, Dr. Lily Saadi-Deputy -Director of Career Development Centers Project in the university, Dr. Heba Rashed-Representative of the International Labour Organization and the teamwork of Jesser Company to the survey research.
Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman-Aswan University President confirmed through his speech the University Career Development Centers in the governmental universities have a positive impact through building connecting bridges between the sector of business and industry and business sector companies and free labor market and this by the future employments from students of Egyptian Universities.
Dr. Lalia Saadi- Deputy-Director Center added that the session will continue 3 days in a row in participation with 10 volunteers from students of Aswan University where they have been trained on methods and methodologies of gathering data from businessmen, adding the employments of the Career Development Centers were trained on supervising on the process of gathering data and analyzing and publishing them to obtain quantity and quality information about the needs of the local labor market and the public trends and challenges that face business owners in employing the graduates of the universities, in addition to the required skills the various economic sectors in the governorate.
As well, for the first time in Egypt, there will electronic system for all Career Development Centers to facilitate the process of collecting information and analyzing them; this is system is activated by the International Labour Organization and the observatory of the labor market at the Ministry of Higher Education.
This survey is carried out within the framework of the activities of enhancing the skills of employments in these centers as considering it one of the components of the University Career Development Centers that is implemented by American University Cairo in cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development and the International Labor Organization; Which aims to establish 20 centers for professional development in 13 Egyptian public universities.
