October 25, 2026

As part of the Faculty’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the academic and research capabilities of its junior academic staff and foster international collaboration, a workshop was organized for teaching assistants and other members of the auxiliary academic staff to introduce the Japanese Initiative and highlight the training opportunities, research grants, and scholarships it offers.

The workshop was held under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty and featured a presentation by Professor Ahmed El-Nagiri, Professor of Histology at the Faculty and a member of the Japanese Initiative.

The session highlighted the ways in which teaching assistants and junior academic staff can benefit from the initiative’s training programs and joint research grants. It also explored available resources and opportunities for enhancing their research skills and building their scientific capacity.

The workshop concluded with an open discussion, during which Professor El-Nagiri answered attendees’ questions and addressed their inquiries regarding the initiative and its available opportunities.
