Dr. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aswan University Hospitals, under the auspices of Dr. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, Acting President of Aswan University, said that the Stroke Unit in the Department of Neurological Diseases at the Faculty of Medicine was able to save the lives of a number of patients within a few days, as the cases were admitted with symptoms of a stroke in the first hour, and arrived at the University Hospital.
Al-Dahshoury added that the intensive care doctors in the Neurology Department conducted the necessary medical examinations, which showed the patients’ readiness to receive the clot-dissolving drug Actylase in the first three hours, and the patients were immediately injected with this solvent drug to disappear the symptoms of clots and avoid the risk of complete paralysis.
Dr. Ashraf Maabad, Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, added that for the first time, Aswan University hospitals provide this clot-dissolving drug in Upper Egypt, despite its high price, but it is available to all patients, provided that the patient with a clot arrives within the first hours when symptoms occur, provided that the patient conducts all examinations and analyzes The provision of this drug comes to serve the people of Aswan and the patients of the southern Upper Egypt governorates.
