Prof.Ahmed Ghallab Mohammed-Aswan University President said that a developing plan has been drawn up for the campus of the Faculty of Engineering at Abu Al-Raish, the includes developing buildings, headquarters, halls, classes, and studying rooms of the Faculty of Engineering which has been established since 1995 and was not covered by any development.
Prof.Ahmed Ghallab added that we have to draw up a developing plan that became an important and basic requirement to improve the infrastructure for serving the educational and research process that is provided to students as well as the academic staff and their assistants, and the administrative authority of the faculty.
Prof.Ahmed Ghallab confirmed that the importance of implementing the developing plan currently at the computer halls and the Information Technology Unit and working on linking it with the high-speed internet, as well as work is underway to establish an artificial intelligence research center, and it is underway redeveloping and rehabilitation the library of the faculty, and working on raising the efficiency of the laboratories(Materials Properties& Resistance Laboratory- Soil Mechanics and Foundations Research Laboratory- Area Laboratory- Mechanism Laboratory ) of both Departments of Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering at the faculty.
Prof.Ahmed Ghallab indicated that the Faculty of Engineering was established in 1995 that includes three departments (Civil Engineering Department-Electricity Engineering Department-Architecture Engineering Department ). Dr.Ayman Osman-Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs explained that today, the drawing hall has been opened at the Faculty of Engineering that has a capacity of 84 students for serving the preparatory batch as well as all batches of the faculty.
Dr.Mohamed Zakaria-the Engineering Advisor of the University said that the Engineering Consultations & Studies Center has a prominent place and good scientific reputation among many governmental foundations and agencies; the center successes in signing cooperated protocols (the Urban Communities Authority and the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources) to improve water resources system. The Engineering Consultations & Studies Center became a shining star in the sky of Aswan University and has an important role in the engineering affair inside the university, Aswan governorate, and the region of Southern Upper Egypt.
At the current time, the works of developing and preparations are underway for the classrooms of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources for serving its students and those who belong to it. It’s worth mentioning that Prof.Ahmed Ghallab has inaugurated the engineering drawing hall in the attendance of Dr. Ayman Othman, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Luai Saad El-Din Nasrat, Dean of the College, Dr. Muhammad Zakaria Abdel Hamid, the University’s Engineering Advisor, and many of the faculty members and their assistants.
