Goals of the Department:

1-Prepare Veterinarians  who have a wide and comprehensive awareness in the field of health supervision on food, through their capacity on discovering  and knowing the inappropriate foods  for  specifications and also checking the food of animal origin  ,and decide its validity for human consumption, and the department will be a revision center in this matter.

2-Qualifying  Postgraduate  students in the field of Food Hygiene in order to have the ability of separation and diagnosis for food poisoning etiology.

3-Establishing laboratories as well as environmental research in the field of Food Hygiene  to measure the safety of the food of animal origin and free from pathogens.

4-Setting seminars, and search and training courses for veterinarians who are working in the field of food hygiene.
